The 9-tailed demon fox, Gumiho, wishes to change into a human in order to keep her promise to the one she loved. However, right before she turns into a human, a vengeful demon-purger arrives and seals her into a sword. Now, in present day Korea, a young boy has found the sword and its contents. Based on the Shin Megami Tensei If videogame. The setting is Karukozaka High School, which is mysteriously sucked into a void and emerges in the realm of Makai, a world of demons. Most of its students and school employees are trapped in the other world along with it.
Six months ago, Karukozaka High School was sucked into the demon world, and in the ensuing chaos, only two survivors emerged: Nobu, who defeated the Demon Lord that took over the school, and Yumi, who possesses latent demon powers of her own. Although they're both trying to put the incident behind them, the gateway to the Underworld remains open, and soon Nobu finds himself battling demons right on the streets of Tokyo. Ambushed by mysterious forces, they were transported to another realm, but managed to escape with minor injuries. Though Walter initially appeared fine, his health began to deteriorate. But, despite his unwell disposition, Walter was tasked with investigating the strange phenomenon of "literature," which infected people and transformed them into demons. As Walter became increasingly skeptical of his samurai responsibilities, his symptoms intensified. Finally, succumbing to the temptation of the forbidden "literature," Walter snuck into the Monastery's safe-keeping to read the confiscated book. As the pages unfolded before him, the very foundations of his home - the kingdom - started to crumble away.
