Shouko Komi's first day at Itan Private High School marked her as the school's Madonna, admired for her tall and graceful frame and stunning black hair. Despite her popularity, she struggled with communication. Hitohito Tadano, a typical high school student who preferred to stay out of trouble, became the target of his classmates' anger after being seated next to Shouko. One day when he was accidentally knocked out, he woke up to the sound of Shouko's meow. Realizing that she found it difficult to communicate and had no real friends, Hitohito determined to help her by assisting her in making 100 friends.
