Spin-off of High-School DxD that deals with the lives of two cute girls in the group, this takes place after Chapter 10 of the main manga series
Highschool of the Dead is set in present day Japan, starting as the planet is hit with a fatal pandemic that turns people into zombies, euphemistically referred to from the primary characters as "Them" (?? Yatsura?). The storyline follows a number of highschool students (as well as the college nurse) as they cope using a world-wide catastrophic event called the "Outbreak". They also have to confront the further risks of social fall, in the kind of dangerous survivors, and the potential decay of their particular moral codes as the cast attempts to survive the zombie apocalypse. Beginning in the HS, the pupils getaway into town at the place where they have to cope with his pupils and a tainted teacher. They get a dog as well as a small girl, and assess for survivors in their houses. Afterwards, they finally make their way to an elementary-school which is allegedly a secure zone, go through a police station, and last in a shopping center.

It is the first chapter with a (seemingly) happy ending, although some tips reveal a sinister twist.The story is divided into a total of eight chapters: four "Question" arcs and four "Answer" arcs. Each chapter keeps the same main characters, but ends in a different way. However, each chapter gives valuable answers, hints, and clues to the previous one, while at the same time bringing forth even more mysteries.The question arcs are: Onikakushi-hen, Watanagashi-hen, Tatarigoroshi-hen and Himatsubushi-hen.The answer arcs are: Meakashi-hen, Tsumihoroboshi-hen, Minagoroshi-hen and Matsuribayashi-hen.The side story arcs are: Onisarashi-hen, Yoigoshi-hen, and Utsutsukowashi-hen+
In the summer of 1983, Keiichi Maebara and his family leave the noisy city for the tranquil town of Hinamizawa. There, he befriends Satoko Houjou, Rika Furude, Rena Ryuuguu, and Mion Sonozaki, who become his loyal group of friends. As they spend their days enjoying carefree fun, Keiichi gradually realizes that things in Hinamizawa are not what they seem. While attending the Cotton Drifting Festival, Keiichi discovers that the town has been plagued by murders and disappearances in the aftermath of the celebration. The locals attribute it to the "Oyashiro's Curse," which claims that anyone who angers the town's patron god will be cursed with death or disappearance. Initially, Keiichi dismisses it as a scary myth aimed at disciplining naughty children. However, when his friends refuse to speak about the strange occurrences in the village and a murder and disappearance happen after the festival, Keiichi starts to suspect his new friends' involvement in the gruesome events. He fears he may be the next victim of the mysterious vindictive force.
