The story is set in the world of Luento, where beastmen live and phantom beasts dwell, and describes the journey of Balm, a beastman, and Polo, a stray child phantom beast. Parm is a trimmer of phantom beasts and travels around trimming their overgrown nails and hair. The story begins when Parm meets a child of a new species of phantom beast that can speak.

The assassin calls for reinforcements and attacks the lady of the temple, revealing that the lady of the temple is also another last descendent of another powerful family that was drawn out of Su country.
