From MangaArt: There are 2 manga series in the book. In the first series, Magic, the background is set in the futuristic 2200's in the edge of the galaxy. Super model Kana has died in a space ship accident when she traveled to a planet on the edge of the galaxy. Her daughter was found 3 years after the magnetic storm has rested. A distant related cousin of Kana adopted the young child (he was also an old boyfriend of Kana!). Years later, Kana's child has grown up to be a teenage girl... In the second story, Silence, the background is set in modern Japan. A teenage boy is seeking revenge for his brother who was murdered by gangsters. He rides on his bicycle, approaches each of his enemy and then pulls out his pistol! No one is supposed to find out. But someone notices him...
1-6) Heita was secretly in love with his classmate, Komai, and was found out by the infirmary sensei, Tsuge. Tsuge threatened Heita, “If you want me to keep it a secret, you'd have to listen to me.” From then on, Heita lets Tsuge have his way with him. Soon, Heita found that his rationality could no longer restrain his own overwhelming urge and desire. Did he fall in love with Tsuge? 7) Untold Love A moment of kindness in a train station made Miyami Shigo pay attention to shy bespeckled Maki Shuuichi. But when they meet again, Maki doesn't remember Miyami, and is cold towards him. 8) Moonlight Melody Edgar Lockwood is a beautiful young man with light hair and porcelain skin, so he's a favorite object of affection at the all boy's school he attends. Problem is, Edgar is straight, and all this male attention is totally unwanted! He even has to have a bodyguard in the form of childhood friend/servant Dick Clay. When Edgar gets the bright idea to tell everyone they're dating to repel his admirers, it's the perfect solution to his problem... right? 9) A Certain Day in Winter Heita, Komai, Tsuge all end up at Imayasu's place for hotpot. Sure, why not.
Rose Hip Rose is a manga about a teenage girl who fights crime. While the setup doesn't sound so great, it gets better as the manga progresses. The series' major strong point is the art. Along the way, she ends up having a showdown with a major criminal named The Goat. However, it seems that The Goat doesn't seem to like being caught. Be wary, though, the series is very violent. The art and story are by Fujisawa Tohru, author of GTO and Bad Company. The art is quite nice, but somewhat different from GTO's. If you like violence, gore, Fujisawa, or cacti, Rose Hip Rose is the manga for you. Oh yeah, did I mention it was violent?
