The narrative unravels through the eyes of Tobia Arronax, a teenage Newtype who inadvertently gets involved in the confrontation between the Jupiter Empire and the Crossbone Vanguard. While many Gundam aficionados were left underwhelmed by Gundam F91, Crossbone Gundam is lauded as one of Gundam's best due to its appealing characters, astute narration, and one-of-a-kind "pirate Gundam" designs. One cannot help but ponder how Gundam F91 would have fared had the original plan of a 52-episode TV series been fulfilled instead of compressing it into a two-hour movie.
